Material decides how it ages. Ceramic is the usual choice: the glaze wipes clean and keeps its colour under daily use. Tempered glass bowls sit above the counter and look lighter in a tight bathroom. Stone basins are heavy, so check what your counter is built to hold before you settle on one.
