Do I have to hack the wall to fit a rain shower set?
Not for an exposed set. It mounts onto the existing wall inlets, which is the usual swap in a finished bathroom. A concealed set hides the valve inside the wall and has to be planned before tiling, so it suits a bathroom being renovated rather than one being touched up.
Can I keep my existing mixer and change only the shower head?
Most items in this category are sold as complete sets with the valve included. If you only want the head or the hose on its own, ask us first, because whether a part is available separately depends on the brand and the model.
